battery heating in samsung galaxy s3
Hi, I was planning to buy a SAMSUNG S3. however I came to know that many users are facing wifi connection problem with the phone which seems to be solved in the new handsets. However now came with a new issue of the phone heating up after use. I just loved the phone, its touch, its features, its display and almost everything. However, it would be really annoying if it heats up while using. Is it a problem with battery?
Hi, many users have reported the problem of phone heating up at the back. The problem if faced by many other handsets too. However SAMSUNG S3 has officially announced that it’s quite normal for the phone to heat up if you play games and surf in internet for a long time. The temperature could go up to 40 degree Celsius. There is no problem with the battery. The heating depends on your usage. If you use it for calls, messages, listening songs etc. All the phones now comes with multitasking features so the user starts multi task and forget to end the task so many process running at same time can cause heating up of CPU as there is no airflow and air exhaust like we have in computer, so which ever the process is necessary we should start that rest we should close, this helps in more battery life and heating up of processor also. the temperature is expected to stay till 30 degree Celsius. It’s in all a very good phone with great features if you ignore these problems.
Hey, I have been using SAMSUNG S3 from sometime. I came across the problem just once. Otherwise its in a quite normal temperature. I was quite worried when it got very heated and thought there was some battery problem. I got it checked immediately but found it to be good. 40 degree celsius is not something that you would like to keep on your ears and talk. however as it didn’t occur again I am quite satisfied.
Hey guys, even I faced the same problem with my Samsung s3 handsets. My battery drains very soon and gets heated very soon. You said its normal however is there any way that I could increase my battery life and avoid heating?
Here are a few simple things to you could do to increase the battery life. Whenever you are not using internet turn off Wifi / GPS and Location Services and close the background data as well. If this does not work Go to Settings of the phone and check Wireless and Networks and lastly go to Mobile Networks and turn of Cellular data/ Mobile data. You will see a 10x enhancement in the battery life. The overheating of your device should also stop occurring.
hello, Thanks for your suggestion. I would try this out and hope that my problem would get solved.
"Please notice. Your phone's battery is overheated"
My experience is a bit disappointing.
During the first week, I noticed my battery drains very soon and gets heated too much.
I compared this behaviour with another S3.
After 9 hours (wifi + gps disabled, rarely used, no games, 20 min. phone calls) I had 16% battery power left.
the other one, after 12 hours (wifi + gps disabled, some games, about 2 hours phone conversations) had still 25% battery power.
Also, as soon as I unplug the power cable, the battery indicator from 100% in about 40 secs. goes 98% (strange IMHO).
Yesterday, when I started recharging my S3, there was a synthetic voice from the handset saying:
"Please notice. Your phone's battery is overheated", as you can hear from my attachment.
it warns you every 3/4 min.
didn't find anything on the web about this.
regards, and sorry for the english...
Even I am facing similar issue. My battery heats up and I was not able to find a solution. Then I closed down and terminated all the desired apps which were running in the background. Then it was all ok. The battery life was much better by then.
Don't ever take this issue lightly. If you continue to use your phone in the same way then it can also damage your phone as well and you will be in a big trouble then. If you are facing this problem then it clearly indicate that your battery is faulty and its time to change the battery with a new one, If your device is under warranty then you can directly visit the Samsung store and they will help you better.
Its not always battery that makes this problem. If you are facing this problem particularly when you are charging your phone then there is alsp possibility that your charger is not working. Try with some other charger and see if that helps you. Make sure that you are using the same voltage charger with the phone and that is also from the same company.
