Nokia Lumia 800 unable to connect with pc

Hi friends, I need your help to sort out the issue with my Nokia Lumia 800. I had purchased Nokia Lumia 800 Windows smartphone a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday when I tried connecting it to my desktop computer, it failed. I have no idea why this is happening. My desktop computer has Windows 7 installed and has AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor on a Asus M95 motherboard. I have initially used the Nokia 5233 which I was able to connect it to my desktop without any problem. So why is this happening with Nokia Lumia 800. I thought Lumia 800 being a Windows phone will connect easily to my Windows desktop, but this did not happen. Please provide a solution for this.

I just found that you will need a software named Zune to connect your Lumia device to your computer. You can just google this software. It will help you to synchronize your Lumia device with your Windows computer. This will help you to transfer files as well.

Yes, to connect your Lumia 800 to your computer you will require the Zune program. Just search it online and install it. It is very easy to install. Below are the steps you need to follow once you install Zune program on your computer:
    • With the help of the USB cable connect your Lumia 800 smartphone to your Windows computer. Zune automatically opens on your computer, if you haven't opened it.
    • Zune will then recognize your phone, which might take some time.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions to set it up.

At the end you will be able to sync your Windows computer and Lumia smartphone.

Hi, if you’re facing this problem then I suggest you to Uninstall Zune from your computer. Factory reset your phone. Press Windows Key + F Search for Zune and delete everything that isn’t a driver. Now connect the phone to the computer. As soon as you do this you will get to options:
    1. Install device drivers automatically
    2. Get the Zune software
Now download of the Zune software once again. Once its done install it and make sure you disconnect your phone before installing. After installation, reconnect the Lumia 800. Now Drivers will automatically start to install. Once you get done with this zune will recognize the Lumia 800 and you will see the updates that are available for your phone. Hope this works for you.

How are you connecting your phone with the computer? is it wired or wireless connection. If this is wired connection then I would recommend you to check for the connecting wire first. If there is something wrong with the connecting cable then also you may face such issues. You can get a new connecting cable for your phone from any mobile accessories stores and try by that cable. If the problem is with the cable then you will not face this problem again. Thank you!!!

I was not knowing about the Zune program. Than you so much for making me aware of this. I have done the same as it is given over here and the connection is done without any problem. This is really great and I wanted to say to thank you for your post and so replying with this new post. I am expecting similar help from this community members in future as well.

You can connect your Windows phone with Zune software and If you had downloaded Zune software on to your phone properly and still you cannot your phone with USB then check with the USB port of the PC and your phone and try connecting to different port available to your PC. If connection doesn't established then check out with other PC so that you will make out exact problem which can be on to your phone and also to USB port of PC. Check out with these procedure and get your problem solved.

I was also facing the same problem with it that the phone was not able to connect with my computer and I was not able to get the reason for this problem. But after reading your post, I decided to try with a new cable as that can also be the reason for this problem. I bought a new connecting cable and with that new cable, it made the connection without any problem. So, if someone also facing the same problem then you can also do the same and I wish that it will resolve the problem for you.
